Binna Burra Lodge was pleased to welcome The Honourable Shane L. Stone AC QC, Coordinator-General of the National Recovery and Resilience Agency (NRRA) on Tuesday 28 September 2021.

Formed in 2021, the NRRA sits in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet portfolio. It was established by Prime Minister Scott Morrison in response to recommendations from the Royal Commission into National Natural Disaster Arrangements

The NRRA is currently assisting Binna Burra Lodge with a $500,000 Local Economic Recovery Program (LERP) grant to enable additional infrastructure at Binna Burra after the devastation of the bushfires in 2019.

It is a project proudly supported by the Australian and Queensland governments under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.

It was the first time Mr Stone had visited Binna Burra.

He was provided with a tour and introduced to the ‘spirit of Binna Burra’ and shown the bushfire response and recovery activities by Binna Burra representatives, Steve Noakes and Tim Medhurst.
