Housekeeping Manager

About the role

We are looking for a professional Housekeeper who will attend to our facilities with integrity and attention to detail.

The goal is to create a clean, orderly and sustainable environment for our guests that will become a critical factor in maintaining and strengthening our reputation.

Skills and experience

Required skills and experience;

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as Senior Housekeeping Manager
  • Previous experience in a remote location and multi-area venue
  • Chemical handling and storage experience, previous knowledge of eco-friendly products highly advantageous
  • Strong understanding of all financial aspects i.e. wage costs, department budget, purchasing
  • Able to provide training and up-skilling for all new and existing housekeeping employee's
  • Ability to create SOP's, policy, procedure and training documents
  • Understanding of Microsoft and Property Management Systems (Newbook experience favourable)
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Must be experienced in the inventory of housekeeping supplies and amenities, as well as the ability to maintain them within the allotted budget
  • Perform quality inspections throughout the lodge and campground and deal with complaints regarding anything housekeeping related
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards
  • Critical thinking to recognize problems and identify solutions

Binna Burra is 24/7 business located amongst spectacular scenery and offers a wonderful lifestyle for staff living within a reasonable distance. It is a 35 minute drive from Nerang or Canungra and own transport is essential. There is no on-site accommodation.

Labourer/Handyperson/Maintenance

About the role

We are hiring a maintenance worker to join our maintenance team. You will inspect different equipment and perform any basic repairs or preventative maintenance when required. To do well in this role you should have previous experience in maintenance, be highly skilled with various hand and power tools.

Job tasks and responsibilities

This position is suited to a hands-on individual, with strong organisational and communication skills and previous experience in restaurants and/or cafes.

You will be required to provided the highest standard of quality and attention to detail through all phases of service to ensure an impeccable dining experience for every guest.

You will be required to posses the following attributes:

  • The ability to quickly master¬†all aspects of the food, wine and bar menus to guide each guest through their own unique dining experience based on individual taste preferences.

About the role

We are currently seeking enthusiastic and hard-working individuals to join our Housekeeping team on. This role is very physical. The hours on offer are spread across a rotating 7-day roster with day shifts commencing between 6-9am. Weekend availability is essential to be considered for this role.

An overview of some of the tasks you will be required to complete are;

  • Cleaning all sky lodge¬†rooms, as well as campground facilities to high level.
  • Ensure all guest common area toilet and shower facilities are clean and smell fresh.
  • All common area toilet and shower facilities to be fully stocked with bath mat, toilet paper and hand wash.
  • Ensure all internal and external public area tiled floors, corridors are swept and mopped, and carpet and stairs are vacuumed and swept daily.
  • Ensure window sills are wiped and all windows are cleaned using window cleaner (excluding windows that require specialty cleaning i.e. equipment & ladders).
  • Dust and wipe walls, doors, and tabletops, walls to be kept mark free, all doors to be washed down as necessary.
  • To follow and complete public area cleaning daily checklists.
  • Understand all functions happening at the Lodge and provide cleaning at time-critical points.
  • To act upon guest requests and special requirements where necessary.
  • Any maintenance to be reported to the housekeeping manager.
  • To pass on all information relevant to all public areas to the supervisor, e.g. maintenance issues, special requirements and requests, etc.
  • Follow procedures for all waste disposal and recycling.
  • Pass on any personal requests or preferences from guests to your supervisor.
  • Undertake other duties, which may be allocated from time to time, as requested by your housekeeping supervisor or designated i.e. room cleans, deep cleans.
  • Report to reception any lost and found articles.
