Executive Housekeeper

Location: Binna Burra Lodge
Work Type: Full Time

About the business

Binna Burra is an iconic Australian eco-tourism destination, connecting nature to people some 800 metres above sea-level amidst the subtropical rainforest of Lamington National Park. A jewel of the Scenic Rim Region welcoming visitors since 1933 Binna Burra is easily accessible from both the Gold Coast and Brisbane. In September 2019 bushfire destroyed the road access to Binna Burra, much of Binna Burra's heritage buildings and infrastructure. However, all levels of government have supported the rebuilding of the road and a dedicated core team of staff and volunteers have been working hard towards re-opening the destination, to 'bring back Binna Burra'. Day visitors and guests will soon return to Binna Burra to enjoy direct access to walking in Lamington National Park staying at the stunning Sky Lodges; Campground and eating at the Teahouse. The heritage-listed Groom's Cottage will become a focal point celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the place. Looking to the future, the destroyed Lodge site has been cleared and master-planning to rebuild has begun subject to fundraising. In the meantime, a new eco-adventure experience, a 'Via Feratta' or 'iron walkway' will be opened in 2021 bridging the Bellbird waterfall and offering unique views from the mountain to the Gold Coast. With support from Scenic Rim Council and community 'Binna Burra Kitchen' was established on the site of The Old School, Beechmont early in 2020 opening briefly before the impact of Covid-19. Binna Burra will re-open 'Binna Burra Kitchen' as a hub for residents and visitors to the Scenic Rim and Gold Coast. This key role will lead to the re-opening of the food and beverage service by Binna Burra.
