We are now looking for partners in the Binna Burra ‘IN THEIR OWN WORDS’ oral history project.

Project aims:

  1. To collect and preserve the stories of people closely associated with the formation of Lamington National Park and Binna Burra Lodge over the past 100 + years.
  2. To include a rich and diverse collection of interviews and recordings with those who appreciate the ‘Spirit of Binna Burra’ from all walks of life.
  3. Apply the voices collected to exhibitions which feature stories about the history and heritage values of Binna Burra.

It will be modelled on the National Library of Australia Oral History Collection and (who knows!) might one day parts of it might even be considered for inclusion in the Oral History and Folklore collection of the National Library.
