  • Secret Revealed

“Hidden in the mountains of Lamington National Park is probably Queensland's best kept secret. About 1½ hour's drive from the beaches of the Gold Coast is Binna Burra Mountain Lodge, a beautiful rainforest guesthouse. Trekking in a cool temperature forest is nothing like the sweat and heat from walking through a dense tropical forest. Adrenalin-pumping activities like abseiling and flying fox are also organized for the more adventurous. A stay at the mountain Lodge will give you golden memories of Queensland.”

Alvin Chiang - New Paper ñ Singapore

An idyllic mountain rainforest hideaway

Experience the magic as Binna Burra Mountain Lodge combines the peace and tranquillity of a mountain getaway with a unique opportunity to explore a truly beautiful rainforest environment.

Heritage-listed accommodation

The Lodge provides accommodation for a limited number of guests in heritage-listed lodges with the original buildings built from hand-cut tallow wood slabs. Some of the cabins date back to when the Lodge was first established in the early 1930s. All rooms offer tea and coffee making facilities, heaters, fans, are non-smoking, and are serviced daily. To help guests leave the outside world behind, televisions and telephones, clocks and radios whilst available in the Lodge, are not found in guest rooms.

Two styles of accommodation are available at The Lodge:

  • Acacia rooms are undoubtedly the most popular rooms at the Lodge. They offer panoramic mountain views or rainforest views and each has its own balcony. Acacia's have private shower and toilet facilities and have either queen, double, twin beds or can sleep larger families.
  • Casuarina rooms are heritage guesthouse style rooms nestled amidst native gardens. These original rooms were designed just to be slept in, as the rest of the time was spent socialising in the guest lounges and enjoying the facilities of the Lodge. Casuarina rooms offer comfortable beds plus wash basin vanity unit. Separate bathroom facilities close to rooms on the same level are shared by just a small number of other guests.

Experience beyond the view

  • Guests can enjoy the free daily activities program of guided walks, experience the adventure activities, find solitude in the Lodge lounge, or explore the National Park at their leisure.
  • Share the magic of a roaring log fire in the main Guest Lounge at the end of the day.
  • Plan the next day's activities and enjoy a spectacular mountain sunset over pre-dinner on the scenic Coomera Terrace.
  • Learn more about Lamington National Park’s flora & fauna or find some light reading in the well-stocked Library
  • Buy locally-produced arts, crafts, souvenirs and essentials from the Lodge Gift Shop.
  • Join in the friendly ambience of communal seating or a quiet table for 2 in the historic Clifftop Dining Room where the hearty country style food is matched only by the spectacular view.
  • For the thrill seekers, even the most adventurous will be challenged by the sheer cliff abseil descents, some of the best in Australia.

Vision

Preservation of the spirit of Binna Burra through continuous business renewal.

Mission

We are custodians of Binna Burra's heritage, we nurture and improve it today, and we will pass it on in good health to future generations.
To achieve this we must have a sustainable business which has sufficient economic strength to ensure its environmental and social performance recognizes and complements the world heritage natural environment in which the business is located.

The Future

The distinctive history of the Lodge can only be mirrored by an even more exceptional future.
Brisbane-based architects 'Deicke Richards' have been the backbone of the impressive 'Master Plan', projecting 15 years into the development of the business.
