Lamington Park Natural History Association

The Lamington Natural History Association (LNHA) began in 1975 when the idea was brought back from the United States by Tony Groom.

The association is an incorporated, community, non-profit-distributing organisation whose main aims are to increase visitors' understanding, appreciation and knowledge of the Lamington National Park and to foster Park values in general.

Active members make a valuable and worth-while contribution towards fulfilment of the Association's aims by participating in the following activities:
  • Providing information to Park users by staffing the Visitor Information Centre on weekends and during holiday periods
  • Researching, designing and producing track guides, fauna and flora lists and brochures for the Park
  • Attending weekend workshops aimed at increasing knowledge and understanding of the Park
  • Conducting special projects such as revegetation of areas in the Park
  • Conducting fundraising activities to improve facilities and services

New members are most welcome and the only requirements are that the intending member has an interest in and a love for Lamington National Park or the sustainable development of natural resources. Further information (as well as membership application forms) is available from the Secretary:

Vision

Preservation of the spirit of Binna Burra through continuous business renewal.

Mission

We are custodians of Binna Burra's heritage, we nurture and improve it today, and we will pass it on in good health to future generations.
To achieve this we must have a sustainable business which has sufficient economic strength to ensure its environmental and social performance recognizes and complements the world heritage natural environment in which the business is located.

The Future

The distinctive history of the Lodge can only be mirrored by an even more exceptional future.
Brisbane-based architects 'Deicke Richards' have been the backbone of the impressive 'Master Plan', projecting 15 years into the development of the business.
